It's A Goalie Thing

As I said before, I'm a big fan of goaltenders. Weirdly enough, none of my favorites are what anyone would call "stars" or even No. 1 goalies. Rather, they're prospects or back-up goalies. But each one of them has a certain something that attracted me, whether it be their acrobatic style, their wandering out of the net to check an opponent, or the qualities I see that shout of future NHL success. Plus, I've always favored the "underdog".

From Rick Tabaracci, a 10-year NHL veteran, to Clint Malarchuk, retired Sabres goalie now coaching a minor-league team, to Peter Skudra, a rookie goalie with a bright future, I've enjoyed watching them all, following their careers and rooting them on.

Enjoy my tributes to these Guardians of the Net.
