Personal Data:

  • Brown (for now) hair, brown eyes, 5'6"
  • Single, and currently residing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • One son, Michael, who turned 33 January 13, 2003 (ACK! I'm OLD!)
  • Favorite music: Folk, blues, jazz, country and new age music, especially Amy Carol Webb, Carl Anderson, Tim McGraw, Little Texas,
Tangerine Dream and Andreas Vollenweider , and cajun, particularly STEVE RILEY and the Mamou Playboys. I've also recently discovered the amazing talents of Sam Broussard.

  • Favorite food: SUSHI!, cajun, chocolate, and all comfort foods.
  • Favorite movie: Beaches, Michael, Dirty Dancin', Frankenhooker, Young Frankenstein.
  • Favorite car: Fancy, my 1995 Subaru Legacy LSi

    Hobbies and Interests:

  • Ice Hockey
I'm a hockey fan, especially of goaltender Rick Tabaracci (hence the nickname "TabbysGal"),
and I also am a fan of former Lightning prospect Corey Spring, Chris Simon, Mark Fitzpatrick, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere. Yeah, most of my faves are goalies, what can I say? It has to be the demented mind set they must have, donning mask, blocker and gloves to face a 100-mph frozen rubber disk flying at their bodies. I just got my second hockey-related tattoo!

  • Beadwork

I've been beading for about 7 years now. My beadwork has sold at numerous craft shows and consignment shops locally. I've designed and made beaded medicine bags for several of my favorite players, including one for Chris Simon, shown at left. The front image is a replica of Chris' bear-claw tattoo and the back image is of Kokopeli, the Native American flute player. I've designed spider and scorpion pins, which are my biggest selling items, as well as barrettes, pendants, bracelets, earrings and dreamcatcher jewelry. You can see more of my work here.

  • Writing
I've been writing since high school and have won several short-story writing competitions, as well as had poems published in anthologies. I'm occasionally a contributing sports writer on e-sports and am working at editing my novel, The Quest for the Crown. I have completed a book of horror stories, Night Screams. and a book of poetry, Collage, neither of which has been published, although my friends rave about them (friends are great, aren't they?). I've also started writing some essays on events in my life that had a lot to do with who I am now.

  • Biking
I have a mountain bike and like to spend as much time as I can on it, biking the beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach. I gotta tell you, Fort Lauderdale has some of the BEST looking guys (outside of the NHL) I've seen! Since moving from Miami to Fort Lauderdale seven years ago, I've watched the area become one of the hottest areas in Florida. We've got great weather, great restaurants, great nightclubs, great places to go just to see and be seen. Ya gotta love it!

  • Friends:
It's always great to have friends, especially true friends, who are there through good times, bad times, and worse times. I am truly fortunate to have a few of those and I acknowledge them on my Inspirations page.

  • Other Interests:
  • Volunteer Work:

I am a long-time AIDS volunteer. Together we CAN make a difference.

I build scenery for the Fort Lauderdale Players, a local non-profit theater troupe.

I am now a permanent volunteer for the City of Fort Lauderdale Festivals.

  • Pets:
I have four wonderful cats - Bobo (pictured at left), Stinky Pompatous, Myler More, and Mom Kitty - and a cockatiel, Dylan (not after Bob or 90210's stud-muffin).

  • Photography: I bought myself a Canon Rebel G camera and 100-200mm lens for Christmas 1998. My first attempt at using this awesome piece of photographic equipment was December 23, 1998 at a Washington Capitals hockey game. I was amazed and pleased by the resulting photos, which you can see here. Suddenly, photography has become a huge interest of mine. Now if I can only figure out how to use the creative modes available with this camera, I'll be set. I promise to share any interesting shots I manage to stumble upon.

  • Medieval Faires: I really enjoy wandering back into medieval times at these events. Every February, a local park is transformed into a medieval village, complete with jousts, birds of prey shows, games and rides of the period, a living chess game and assorted delicious foods. Going in costume, as I do, really makes you feel as though you are back in the days of King Arthur and Lancelot. Escapism at its very best!

I've decided to start an online journal, with my thoughts, and opinions. I'll update it often and you can check out what's going on my head here, and a Stupid Questions I've Been Asked page as well.

There's lots more, but I've kept you from your surfing for long enough. If you want to know more about me and my family, you can click here for photos, etc., or here to check out the men I'm attracted to and why, or contact me at [email protected].

In closing, I'd like to share a line from one of my favorite Garth Brooks songs with you:

"You've got to choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tides."
